The best solution here would be to press a piece of plastic wrap over the cut surface and put it in the fridge. This way, you’ll limit the avocado’s exposure to oxygen which makes its flesh go brown.

The best ways to ripen an avocado

Sometimes in search of ripe, creamy avocados, all you find is rock-hard ones. There are some tricks to making them ripen quicker and become soft and creamy within a few days. You can either put them in the fridge for two days or try the bag and flour method. To do so, get a paper bag and fill it up about two inches with regular white flour. Put an avocado inside and let it sit there for two days. Make sure to keep the bag shut and placed in a dry spot. As a result, you’ll get a perfectly ripe avocado that you can cut, slice and eat right away.
