Water leads to happier mornings

Ever heard anybody say (usually sarcastically)  that you’re not a morning person? If so, you’re not alone: many of us are pretty grumpy in the morning, at least until we’ve had our coffee. But it turns out that drinking some water before you go to bed could help you have a sunnier disposition in the mornings.

At least, that was the finding of a wild experiment that tracked the morning happiness of those who drank plenty of water versus those who didn’t. The experiment found that those who normally drank lots of H2O were happier than those who didn’t, even when they didn’t get their usual amount of water.

If you drink a glass of water tonight, who knows? You might just wake up happier tomorrow morning!

Water can be a cheap alternative (or supplement) when you want smoother skin

An ugly truth is that pretty much nobody wants to truly look their age. That’s why the market is flooded with exotic moisturizers, creams, and other products intended to give us smoother, younger-looking skin. However, the absolute best thing you can do for your skin is completely free: drinking lots of water.

Drinking water throughout the day is a great way to give yourself a smoother and healthier complexion, but it’s also wise to drink some water before going to sleep. Your body naturally dries out at night, eventually leading to nasty wrinkles. Drinking water before snoozing, though, gives you the hydration needed to keep those wrinkles at bay.

Too hot or cold in the morning? The solution may be more water

Are you always looking for your “Goldilocks temperature?” Some people often feel a little too hot or a little too cold wherever they go. This can make everything from a day of work to a night of sleep unpleasant as you go from freezing to burning up.

Believe it or not, drinking more water can help you feel more comfortable. That’s because your body has its own internal thermostat, and the more water you get, the more stable the temperature will be. Hydration is important throughout the day, but a glass of water at night may be crucial to getting a comfortable night’s sleep.

The key to natural detoxing

These days, “toxic” is a label most people use for things like angry internet comments. However, the real toxins to worry about are those in our bodies, which is why detoxing has become increasingly popular in recent years. As usual, it’s easy to spend a small fortune trying to meet all your detox goals, but you might just be able to accomplish them by just drinking water.

That’s because your body naturally detoxes itself, and water can help take things to the next level. Each sip helps charge up the detoxing occurring inside of you. And drinking a glass of water each night means you can help rid your body of toxins even as you sleep.

Stay heart-healthy in the morning (and all day)

Here’s a confession: our heart health worries us more than almost anything else. Not because of any inherited condition or scary diagnosis. No, we’re worried because there are so many little things that can go wrong with our hearts and lead to major consequences.

Here’s some good news, though: our hearts are 73% water and basically work like a water pump inside our bodies. Getting plenty of water helps you avoid heart stress, improve blood circulation, and even wake up with more energy. In this way, every sip makes for a healthier heart.
